The USC Trojans beat the Michigan Wolverines 32 to 18. USC was ranked number 8 and Michigan was ranked number 3. Everybody on the Trojans had a spectacular game. Dwayne Jarrett, the receiver for the Trojans hauled in 11 receptions for 205 yards. He also had 2 touchdowns! John David Booty the quarterback for USC threw for 391 yards and had 4 touchdowns. Booty and Jarrett (if he comes back) will both likely be on next years list of early Heisman trophy winners. Brian Cushing the linebacker for the Trojans had 2 ½ sacks. Lawrence Jackson the defensive end for USC had an interception and a fumble recovery. The Trojans are likely going to be in the top 5 and maybe even number1 in the preseason. On the other side the Wolverines looked awful. Before the game started they were probably wondering if they got a raw deal because they lost to Ohio State so they couldn’t make the national title game. Bo Schembechler had died too and that was not fair to Michigan. In this game though, they didn’t look like they even deserved to be in a bowl game. Michigan will be rated high next year still but if they would have won they would have been rated higher.

In what has become a tale of the Two Headed monster, Arizona Cardinal’s coach Ken Whisenhunt has proclaimed that quarterback Matt Leinart will continue to be the teams starter, with Kurt Warner remaining as the back-up and No huddle offense’s play caller.

After a season opening road loss to the San Francisco 49’ers, Leinart helped engineer an improbable victory over the Seattle Seahawks with a 23-of-37 for 299 yards, one touchdown performance In the Cardinals home opener. This unexpected victory left the NFC West teams knotted at 1-1 records. Of course the victory was helped in large part by the Seahawks Matt Hassle back’s muffed handoff to Shawn Alexander with less than two minutes to go.

West Virginia knocked down Mike Teel’s 2 point conversion pass in the end zone to give West Virginia a thrilling 41-39 victory over Rutgers. It was Rutgers 15th straight loss at west Virginia. This was a very good game by both teams and fans in Louisville our celebrating the Mountaineers big win.

Why are the Cardinal fans celebrating a West Virginia win becasue it hands the Cadinals the Big east Title and a trip to the Orange Bowl. THe cardinals beat West Virginia earlier in the season so they won the tie breaker. West Virgina was playing without pat Slaton as he was injured.

People who thought defense was dead in college football only had to look at the defensive struggle last night between Miami and florida State. Florida State came up on top by a 13-10 score. This time the field goal was good and Coach Bobby Bowden could celebrate. He had to be nervous though as he has seen alot of misses from his kickers.

I watched most of the game and both teams played well defensively, but these two programs havre come down alot from where they were. These teams have good players but not great ones your use to. neither of these two teams will play for another National Championship for awhile unless they get some breaks down the road.
