Edmonton city council will decide next week whether to contribute $8 million to help build a $30-million indoor cycling track and recreation centre on the city's south side.
It would replace the existing Argyll Velodrome, built for the 1978 Commonwealth Games, with a covered facility that would house the new cycling track and a practice field for soccer and rugby, as well as a fitness centre.

The Minnesota Wild narrowly avoided a twin killing in the Twin Cities for the Colorado Avalanche.
Keith Carney was credited with the winning goal 74 seconds into overtime as the hometown Wild rallied for a 3-2 victory over the Colorado Avalanche in Game 2 of their Western Conference quarter-final at the Xcel Energy Center on Friday night.

You would think Floyd Landis would have known better than to get caught with illegal drugs in his system after all the things that Lance Armstrong had to go through in the Tour De France. Landis didn’t learn his lessons very well as he has tested positive for drugs in his system. This is a real black eye for cycling, the United States and the Tour De France.
It makes me wonder how many more are guilty of this crime but just hasn’t been caught yet. I’m sure it runs real deep and will continue to happen until the sport polices itself which I don’t think that will ever happen.
