The Jacksonville Jaguars have signed quarterback David Garrard to a contract extension.
Garrard, 30, is coming off his best season with the team — throwing for 2,509 yards and 18 touchdowns with only three interceptions in 12 games. Those numbers earned Garrard the third-highest passer rating in the NFL (102.2).

What a fantastic result, forget the performance all that matters is the point Chelsea 1-1 Wigan Athletic almost guarantees Premier League football for the Latics for another season.
A man of the match performance from an absolutely superb Chris Kirkland, also cant believe that Avram Grant actually rested players for a game his side HAD to win, his loss.
Emile Heskey broke Chelsea hearts but he also broke beer glasses around the North West as not only Latics fans but also Man U fans threw their arms up in celebration at the big mans late, late equaliser that not only saves Wigans season but also gives United the Championship for a second consecutive year.

“The next time a photographer shoots a f***ing picture, I’m going to break his f***ing neck.”-Tiger Woods to a group of photographers at Doral on Saturday.
I must admit to being a touch perplexed by the interest in Tiger Woods’ foul mouth and his display of anger on Saturday during the third round of the CA Championship. It isn’t like he hasn’t done it before. I remember Woods clearly uttering “motherf***er,” while snapping a ball into the ocean at the 18th at Pebble Beach during the U.S. Open, for example.

The NHL’s top power-play unit during the regular season sputtered along hopelessly through 60 minutes of regulation, but finally clicked when it mattered most — in overtime.
Alex Kovalev scored the overtime winner to give the hometown Montreal Canadiens a 3-2 win over the Boston Bruins Saturday night in Game 2 of their Eastern Conference quarter-final.

In Canada’s first morning draw of the Men’s World Curling Championship on Tuesday, a last-shot draw from Kevin Martin helped the rink earn a 9-8 victory over Thomas Ulsrud and his Norway teammates.
Martin’s rock had to slide by a pair of Norwegian stones, then dig in to the eight-foot ring for the win. But according to the skip, everything went as planned.

United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon may not attend the opening ceremony of the Beijing Olympics, joining a growing number of world leaders who are declining invitations to the August event.
“The secretary-general had conveyed to the Chinese government some months ago that he may not be in a position to accept the invitation to attend this important event due to scheduling issues,” spokeswoman Marie Okabe said in a news conference on Thursday.

I love watching the Little league World Series and how much effort these youngsters put into trying to win. MY only question is at what costs. Coaches and people who run this don’t seem to understand they are hurting these young pitchers. Looking over it they need to limit pitch counts on these kids.
Throwing a curve ball is real tough on young arms and could do damage down the road. I hope one day that they will look into starting a mandatory pitch count rule and save some of these young arms.

Jaguars @ Steelers:I think the Jacksonville Jaguars will win this game. The Jaguars are a team who can match the Steelers in physical strength. The jaguars have a great run defense and a decent pass defense. The Steelers love to pound the ball up the middle in the running game. There is one problem though; they lost Willie Parker for the rest of the season. They now have Najeh Davenport.Parker was a quicker running back.Davenport is a tougher running back. The Jaguars are great at collapsing the middle of the line. The Steelers are not going to be able to run the ball very well.Ben Roethlisberger is a great quarterback, but it will be tough to pass with no running game.Rashean Mathis is also a great corner back. Maurice Jones-Drew and Fred Taylor are great running backs. The Steelers have a very good run defense so that will be a very good match up.David Garrard has been playing some outstanding football. He has been finding all of his receivers and has great pocket presence. He can also run the ball effectively. This will be a tough match but the Jags should win.
