As defending Stanley Cup champions, the Anaheim Ducks shouldn’t require bulletin board fodder or messages on the dressing-room blackboard for motivation.
A quick glance at Wednesday’s game summary showing four Dallas power-play goals in seven chances probably is enough to get Ducks players fired up for Game 2 of the Western Conference quarter-final on Saturday inĀ AnaheimĀ (7 p.m. PT).

This weekend Manchester United put themselves into pole position to retain their Premier League title after beating Liverpool 3-0. They are now five points ahead of Chelsea and six ahead of Arsenal, after Chelsea came back to defeat the Gunners.

So the defeat at Southend pretty much signals the end for Brighton’s season.
It’s been one that hasn’t been straight forward at all. We’ve had plenty of moaning along the way including many debates over our management (more earlier on in the year), the saga of selling our captain Dean Hammond, our early January blip in which we lost to Mansfield in the cup, unusually low home attendances, the high profile departures of Bas Savage and George O’Callaghan along with plenty of other issues that have arisen.
