Garrard also led the Jaguars to a dramatic 31-29 AFC wild-card playoff victory over the Pittsburgh Steelers in the 2007 playoffs.
Terms of the deal were not released, but Garrard and his agent had reportedly been seeking a similar contract to the six-year contract, $67.5- million US contract Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo signed last season.
The former backup to Byron Leftwich was entering the final year of a four-year deal that paid him about $2 million annually.
