Rangers will face first division Queen of the South in the FINAL of the Scottish Cup, IF Rangers can get past Partick Thistle and St Johnstone, also of the first division.

With the league cup already in the bag, and with Rangers seven points ahead of Celtic in the league with a game in hand, it looks like Rangers are odds on to win the domestic treble.

With the greatest of respect to Partick Thistle, St Johnstone and Queen of the South, none of these teams should really bother Rangers. Ok, so Partick held Rangers to a 1-1 draw to force a replay, they just caught Rangers on an off night.

There is no doubt that Aberdeen would have been formidable opponents for Rangers at Hampden in the final, but again, with respect. As well as Queen of the South have done to get to the final, they really shouldn't pose a threat to Rangers should Rangers get past Partick and St Johnstone.

Queen of the South pulled off a shock result today at Hampden in a SEVEN GOAL thirller with Aberdeen. Queens were ahead three times only to be pegged back every time, but they went ahead for a fourth time, and this time Aberdeen could find no way back.

Ironically, it was an ex Aberdeen player, John Stewart, who scored the winning goal for Queen of the South. There was still 30 minutes to play at that point but Queen of the South managed to hang on.

Queen of the South deserve to be in the final, there is no doubt about that. On the way to the final they beat Linlithgow, Morton, Dundee and of course Aberdeen. They scored a wonder goal against Dundee after the Dundee goalkeeper came up for a corner and was left stranded as McCann launched the ball up field and into the empty goal from just outside his OWN box.

Should Rangers make the final, Queen of the South will be guaranteed a place in next season's UEFA CUP. It will be the first time in their history they will have qualified for Europe. You could only normally read about things like this in roy of the rovers.

Congratulations Queen of the South, hope to see you in the final.
