We at Vital-Chelsea have a source inside the club, who we spoke to regarding Frank Lampard's very late pull out of the squad for tonight's hugely disappointing draw at home to Wigan that must surely have put paid to any lingering title hopes we may have had.

Our source revealed to us that Lampard was on the teamsheet but did not get changed. Everyone else got changed for the warm up and Lamps was supposed to follow but did not for reasons unknown.

The club were then instructing spokesmen and media reps to say that he picked up a late injury. They were later told that they were to report it as 'a personal problem'.

There is some confusion over the actual events, but clearly something took place. We hope it was nothing serious, and although the tabloid media will no doubt report it as Frank Lampard going on strike and refusing to play for us, or having a serious confrontation with a teammate or member of the hierarchy, we are sure that this is not the case. Frank Lampard loves Chelsea and loves us and we at Vital-Chelsea do not believe that he would behave this way.

We will of course follow further developments with interest and report them as soon as we know.
