The Toronto Raptors overcame a brilliant outing by former teammate Charlie Villanueva to beat the stumbling Milwaukee Bucks 111-93 at the Air Canada Centre on Wednesday night.

Villanueva led all scorers with 38 points and 12 rebounds, but Chris Bosh countered with 32 points, 11 rebounds, four blocked shots and three steals as the Raptors (39-39) halted a three-game losing streak.

"It doesn't mean anything to me," said Villanueva, who set a career high with seven three-point baskets.

"I played well, but we lost and I would rather win. I like to be a winner."

"In the second half, we pretty much dominated them," Bosh said. "We played good defence, we ran out, we moved the ball well, and we gave them fits on offence."

Anthony Parker contributed 18 points to Toronto's attack, with T.J. Ford and Rasho Nesterovic providing 14 points apiece.

Andrea Bargnani poured in 10 points, while Jose Calderon had a game-high 12 assists and two points.

"The guys played hard," Raptors head coach Sam Mitchell said. "Hopefully, this gives them a bit of individual confidence."

Toronto sits seventh overall in the Eastern Conference standings, one game back of the Philadelphia 76ers and two games behind the Washington Wizards, with four games remaining.

"We have to continue to play team basketball on both ends," Bosh said, noting that the Raptors have won just four times in the past 15 games.

Michael Redd scored 17 points for Milwaukee, followed by Bobby Simmons with 11 points and Andrew Bogut with 10.

Rookie Ramon Sessions had six points and a team-best 10 assists.

Bucks rally behind Villanueva

Toronto led by as much as eight points in the opening half, but Villanueva scored the first 13 of Milwaukee's 30 second-quarter points to put the Bucks up four.

Rookie Jamario Moon restored the lead for the Raptors at 50-48 with a three-point basket with 24 seconds left to intermission, and they burst ahead 83-68 through 36 minutes.

Ford, acquired by the Raptors for Villanueva on June 30, 2006, tallied 10 of his 14 points as Toronto outscored Milwaukee 33-20 in the third.

The Bucks trimmed the deficit to 10 points with 4:45 remaining, but Parker replied with five consecutive points to seal the deal for Toronto.

Of note, Moon made his 71st start for the Raptors, surpassing Damon Stoudamire's franchise record of 70 starts by a rookie, set in 1995-95.
