Beckham took a pass from teammate Landon Donovan at the top of the box in the ninth minute, and fired the ball into the back of the net to give the Galaxy a 1-0 lead.
Donovan scored the second goal late in the first half, off an assist from Beckham.
“It’s great to score a goal, usually I’m on the other end assisting,” Beckham said after the win.
“I’m happy. But I’m more happy that the team performed well.”
The win helped the Galaxy, who were trounced 4-0 by the Colorado Rapids in their season opener, improve their record to 1-1-0.
Los Angeles hosts Toronto FC on April 13.
