Diamondbacks ink Chris Young through 2013

Financial terms were not disclosed, but the extension contains a club option for 2014.

Young, 24, is hitting just .217 in 23 at-bats this season, but he has clubbed three home runs in six games.
He is a .237 hitter overall, with 37 home runs, 82 runs batted in and 102 runs scored in 184 games since making his major-league debut with Arizona on Aug. 18, 2006.
Young was drafted by the Chicago White Sox, who traded him, Orlando (El Duque) Hernandez and Luis Vizcaino to the Diamondbacks in return for Javier Vazquez and cash considerations, on Dec. 20, 2005.
