One by one, general manager Kevin Lowe is making sure an impressive and young group of Edmonton Oilers remain together.
Right-winger Robert Nilsson, 23, agreed Saturday to a three-year contract after defenceman Tom Gilbert signed a six-year, $24-million US deal the previous day.
Nilsson set career highs in 71 games this season with 10 goals and 31 assists for 41 points, good for sixth in Oilers scoring.
The Calgary native was obtained from the New York Islanders in the Ryan Smyth trade on Feb. 27, 2007.
Nilsson has 17 goals and 45 assists in 128 career NHL regular-season games.
