Indiana Pacers Lose Again!

Ron Artest still affecting the Pacers from the suspended list as the Pacers lost again to the lowly Toronto Raptors 99-97. The Pacers let the Raptors shot more than 60 percent in the last quarter to earn a come from behind victory. This is the fourth straight setback the Pacers have suffered and are not playing very well right now. This makes you wonder how important Ron Artest is to this team.

Artest brings a toughness to the Pacers that they don’t have right now. I know Jermaine O’Neal doesn’t want Artest back as they really don’t get along than Jermaine it’s time you step up and stop this losing skid. People can say what they want about Artest but he brings so much to the court as a player, the Pacers just can’t afford to lose him without having someone to replace him. Putting him on a suspended list doesn’t help the team.

It was a matter of all or nothing for Arsenal at Old Trafford - win and their fading title hopes were back on track whilst defeat meant they were out of it, all bar mathematically, with the top two in such fine form.

He turned pro after his collegiate season ended and is playing the European Tour as a rookie in 2008. So far, not so hot.

Bonds Sits Again

Barry Bonds, San Francisco’s slugger, sat out for his third consecutive game. Right now this is not a concern for them but if his legs get worse, it will be. Manager Bruce Bochy said that he is fine and just needs a little rest. Bonds is turning 43 soon and is showing signs of slowing down. Although he is still doing great for his age. He is 4 home runs shy of breaking Hank Aarons record. He is in the midst of an 0-21 slump. His worst slump ever is 0-23, in his rookie year. He should beat the record this year but if he keeps having injuries he may not. Hopefully his legs get better so he can come back soon. Keep track of the record because it might be broken soon.

Can Matt Hasselbeck Redeem Himself?

Think back to 2004 when the Seahawks visited the Packers in their last playoff meeting. It was a great game that ended the regular time session in a tie. The result was overtime.

Matt Hasselbeck, QB for Seattle, went out on the field to do the coin toss. Seattle won the toss and Matt’s now infamous words were captured on audio forever. I recall that Matt said “We wan the ball and we’re gonna score”. Moments later, Matt threw an errant pass that was intercepted by Al Harris of the Packers.

Without Rooney (OK, he played 15 minutes), Ronaldo, Nani, Scholes, Vidic and Evra, United were still too good for Roma.

Miracles DO happen, occasionally - but it's not usual that the visiting teams are the beneficiaries of them at Old Trafford. And if you even miss a penalty here then you can't expect the supernatural forces to act for you.

Fergie named a balanced line-up with a very strong central midfield and gave a starting berth to Mikael Silvestre for whom it was the first taste of first team action since September when he suffered that ligament injury at Goodison Park.
