The Toronto Raptors rewarded Monday's crowd of 18,855 with a 91-75 victory over the woeful Miami Heat on Fan Appreciation Night at the Air Canada Centre, but head coach Sam Mitchell might have appreciated a stronger effort.
"Well, both teams played last night and they [the Heat] made shots," Mitchell said, somewhat diplomatically.

The Toronto Raptors had everything going for them on Sunday afternoon in Detroit and still couldn't come up with the victory.
Playing against the Pistons' bench down the stretch, and in front of a crowd that seemed more worried about what was going on atĀ golf's Masters tournament, the Raps blew a chance to move solidly into sixth place in the NBA's Eastern Conference, losing 91-84.

The Houston Astros beat the St. Louis Cardinals 2-1.Matt Albers, the Astros pitcher, is showing them that he wants to stay in the majors.He threw for seven innings and only gave up three hits.It was one of his best starts this year.Lance Berkman, the Astros first baseman, hit a homer in his second consecutive game.He is hitting very well lately.This is not good for the Cardinals.They are now down a few games in the division.They are behind the Brewers and the Cubs.The Astros will not make the playoffs but the Cardinals have a shot.The next few games are very important for the Cardinals.It will be interesting to see how they perform.
